Except for Xi'an and Chengdu, on the northern and southern ends of the Road to Shu, the other 26 destinations along this road have not appeared in guidebooks before. Some are small towns which offer only food and lodgings. Others, however, have attractions which have made them tourist stops in their own right. Zhaohua, Langzhong, and Puan have preserved varying amounts of their old towns, and Guangyuan, Zitong, and Liuba all have temples worth visiting. The guide lists attractions for those towns that have them, as well as transportation and recommended hotels and restaurants for all of the 28 destinations along the route.
